About the town
Small town, growing fast
Troutman had 1,592 residents at the 2000 census and 3,698 by 2020. It was incorporated in 1905 and takes its name from Annie Troutman. US 21 runs straight through the middle of town, six miles north to Statesville and ten south to Mooresville, and I-77 is three miles east at Exit 42.
Lake Norman State Park, all 1,942 acres of it, sits on the Troutman side of the lake. So does a steady stream of new neighborhoods, and that's where a lot of search traffic comes from: people new to the area, looking for help they haven't found yet.
We're in Mooresville, the next stop down US 21, so this is close to home for us.
